the sega dreamcast is sega's final home console. it was host to a wide array of games, most notably; sonic adventure, and sonic adventure 2, which later saw -rereleases on the nintendo gamecube
the console launched (in japan) on november 27th of 1998, but was sadly discontinued on march 31st of 2001, a mere 3 months before the release of arguably one of the console's best selling games, sonic adventure 2.
paired with the dreamcast's failure, sega moving to other consoles, and their lackluster line-up of games for a number of years, sega and the sonic franchise was seen as nothing more than a a joke. however, in recent years the sega dreamcast has seen a resurgence in popularity. many people have been dusting off their old dreamcasts and using them again, some even modding their systems. while it definitely isnt the most robust console, it has its charm and its unique qualities that make it stand out and worth using.
